Bridging Day Reflection

Bridging Day Reflection

  • What were you expecting to learn from your Bridging Week experience?

We are expecting to learn about how grade 6 is learning. We have to know cause we are                                                        transforming into middle school and we have to know what are they learning about and just get familiar in with middle                    school so we can get along.

  • What questions were answered for you as part of your experience?

What grade six is like and what level we should be on, also how hard we have. to work through it to get good grades.

  • What questions remain unanswered for you?

How do they work, they said it was an active week, but I still want to know what is the normal week like.

  • What were some of your positive observations during your experience?

I saw them communicating with others and sharing ideas, interviewing and another bunch of things they do to connect with each other.

  • How could we make Bridging Week a better opportunity to learn about middle school?

Maybe you could let us ourselves to go to classes and be familiar more into middle school. Like we go to classes ourself                     without people telling us where to go. Just to know where to go when we tramsform.

Week 35: What Is Your Legacy?

Week 35: What Is Your Legacy?

We are now planning on the celebration of learning. I chose about coronavirus and physics that make energy. I am very excited that I am going to work on the celebration of learning. We are going to have our baby photos, now photos, and a future photo of what we think that we will become. We need to post baby our baby photos, now photos, and a future photo in one drive.

For me, graduation means leaving one grade or level and going to another group. For me a I am going to transition to go from Elementary school to Secondary school. I am very excited that I am going to transitions from Elementary school to Secondary school. Also, it is little nervous too.

We also practiced a lot of mindfulness this year it was a very new thing for me. I have never known there was such thing as mindfulness before this year. I think that mindfulness has helped me a lot like calming down when I am feeling stressed.

Week 34: Thinking about changing

Week 34: Thinking about changing

This week we learned about change. We were finding similar word and synonyms for a change. And we also wrote about 5thing that you changed  in 2020. I wrote : favorite color, weight, height and my English. After writing that I knew what I changed something in 2020. Next word that we are going to learn is Transition.

Yesterday, 5KF came and looked at our math games. Some feedback I can’t understand, some feedback it was mean, some feedback were helpful. Most of them were mean and it was not helpful.

Week 33; Rube Glodburg machine

Week 33; Rube Glodburg machine

These weeks we are starting to go library. Also we started to write limericks. This weeks challenge was to make a group and write a limericks poem. I think  is to write limericks we need lots of thinking. I can’t find enough words and I can’t get the syllables right. So it would be best for me if I work to make limerick with teammates.

Last Friday at the media center, we met Ms. Melinda and we started a project called the Rube oldberg machine. This is a machine that does not use electricity. It rely on the energy of dominoes, balls or object falling, or a ball pushed by something. We got split in groups of 3 or 4 and made a plan for this Friday. On Friday, each of our group member brought a series of every day stuff as planned. Except for me. At lesson 7.5 and 8, we are going to make our Rube Goldberg machine by our self. I hope everything works!

We have been back to school for almost a six weeks, and there are obviously, a lot of changes. We have to wash our hands more, wear a mask everyday, and the seating is different. But changes are always happening. Right now, as long we are in school, we don’t need to wear a mask anymore. The only place that needs a mask on right now is the bus. I wish COIVD-19 to go away.

Getting Placed for Middle School-Week32

Getting Placed for Middle School-Week32

On Tuesday, the whole G5 did an English Placement test. It’s function is to see how good you are at your reading and writing. Middle School teacher came and give a test paper to us and they checked our works. It helps the middle school teachers see how good you are good at English put you in different leveled classes. I don’t know which class is our class. At first, I wasn’t quite worried about it but once I finished the test, I am very nervous about my results!

The Fraction Cushion is another activity we have been working on torwards the week. It is like putting your knowledge about fractions on a pillow. I have finished drawing it and now Mr Alksne gave our piece of decorated fabric to a pillow stitcher to get them stitched the two of the sides. My Fraction Cushion finished.

My goal this week was to manage my time better so I can do my work in a more curios way. Next week, I need to work on getting my Decimal Magic Square challenge done as I have been working on it for it and I finally solved it. I might have to work harder!

Today we made a game. Game that we made is called tramball. Objective is to smash the ball with hand and bounce it on trampoline and give it to other team. If we miss the ball it other team will score 1point. We connect it with skills, teamwork, strategy and rule. Example for skill is : smash the ball hard, trick them etc.

#Plastic tag

#Plastic tag

this is our pledges. We must do this or we are going to be at truble because this our pledges. We must do it or suzhou will get dirty. And on one day Oscar tried using plastic straws. I tried to stop him but it was to late. One day on  home same thing happened I stop them my sister was late and my mom started to use spoon. Also, one time recycled plastic and I gave my all plastic cap to Miss Kinerry. So that mean we are taking action.

#trashtag

#trashtag

Today on May 2, we had a field trip to a field to pick up trash. We did it because our unit was about taking action, so picking up trash is s helping our environment. When I saw all this trash, it motivated us to help the field. In the future, everyone should be helping the animals, trees and nature by picking up trash and taking action.

I did presentations about Harriet Tubman, in our classroom. I present to parents and other class. Harriet Tubman make a change of black people with escaping. She repeated 19times and saved more than 300people. I used research skill to research and I used empathy to read people’s mind. I did well in saying loud and looking the person. Next time I could do better at making poster and show it.
