Austin, Charlie, and Hans Participate in Tournament of Minds

Three 4AS students participated in the first Tournament of Minds competition to be held in China. Austin, Charlie, and Hans successfully completed two challenges on Saturday and fully displayed several attributes of the IB Learner Profile. They were communicators, risk-takers, thinkers, and open-minded while presenting their responses to an extended challenge and an spontaneous challenge.

Tournament of Minds challenges students with open-ended and authentic problems that require creative and divergent thinking. SSIS students formed teams of between 5-7 students with a mix of students from grades 4 and 5 on each team.

The teams that Austin, Charlie, and Hans were members of selected the S.T.E.M. challenge which required them to document the discovery of a new creature.

Well done on a successful first Tournament of Minds, Austin, Charlie, and Hans!
