We had a noisy maths class today as we were inquiring into how long is a minute and what can you really do in a minute. There were lots of ideas to start with, but after completing a few rounds we realized that a minute can sometimes seem longer than think and shorter than you think. It can depend on what you have to do! It was a busy, fun time watching students really engaged in timing themselves.
We have been learning all about time for the last two weeks, starting with Days of the Week, then Calendars, then different types of clocks and how to tell the time to the half hour on an analogue clock. It has been a lot of fun.
Challenge your child to tell the time on an analogue clock to you for an hour or half hour time.
