Classroom Visits

Classroom Visits

We have had a lovely time welcoming some Year 10s into our classroom on the last two Fridays.

On the first visit we used them to help us create some historical timelines about the development of the telephone on an app called Timelines.  It was great to have their expertise to guide us.

On the second visit we read some books together and then chose a game to play in small groups.  There was a lot of laughter in the classroom as students got ‘bombed’ in Ludo, created a word in Scrabble or were searching for an item in a new game called Pictureka!

It was great to make some connections with the older students and have them come and chat to us. We all enjoyed it in 1HN.

Putting our learning into action

Putting our learning into action

Last week in class 1HN were able to put some of their learning into practice.  They built a Class Garden with Ms Connie.  This is a direct link to our unit about How We Organize Ourselves and also our learning about writing a Procedure style text.  The students were very excited to plant a variety of seedlings and are now enthusiastic about following the Watering Schedule they organized.  Some terrific hands on learning taking place.

Please ask your child how they assisted with the garden and what seeds we planted.
